POST WRITTEN BY ANGELINA WITTMANN

A little about the history and trajectory – Deco Dalponte

Silvaldercon de Oliveira - known in the artistic world as Deco Dalponte - son of Evaristo Olinto de Oliveira, a soldier of the Military Police of the State of Santa Catarina who was very fond of music and played the guitar and Nelci de Oliveira (Solteira Dalponte), teacher. Deco had a great influence from his father in his musical artistic trajectory. From his mother he had support, encouragement and understanding.

Family - parents and siblings - Volta Grande - Alto Bela Vista SC

Deco Dalponte was born on March 22, 1976 in the midwestern city of Santa Catarina – Concórdia. His registered name: Silvaldercon is the result of his parents' homage to his paternal grandfather and maternal ninth. It is the junction of the name Silvio (paternal grandfather) with the name Aldérico (maternal ninth). Since he was very young, he has always been and is known as Deco.

Concord SC

Motivated by the movement of the music circles organized by his father, he performed on Rádio da Cidade – Noé de Vargas, from Concórdia. He always took his guitar, even though he was a child and the instrument was almost his size. On Radio they found other singers and players, guitar players from the city and region.

His father, however, could not follow his trajectory and career for a long time. At the age of 41, he left. Coincidentally, at that moment Deco Dalponte will complete 41 years of age - on the day of the show, and will also celebrate his 32-year professional career. The singer received musicality as an inheritance from his parent, which, professionally, began when he was 9 years old - explained below.

Deco Dalponte told us that in his childhood games and thoughts, there was always room for music. Drumming, humming and making musical sound with it. His plans, still in childhood, always relied on music. His mother accompanied this process and always supported him, not contradicting his options and decisions when it came to his vocation. His activities at his father's house in Concordia were related to rural activities. In his spare time he enjoyed drawing, technology, speculating new words in other languages – realities far from the family cell of his childhood. I felt like getting to know other places, cultures and music.

He lived in the city of Concordia until 1985, when he was 9 years old. He left home and moved to the neighboring city, but in Gaucho territory – Marcelino Ramos. The city of Concórdia in Santa Catarina is located in the extreme south of the state, on the border with Rio Grande do Sul. In the city of Rio Grande do Sul, he continued to sing on Rádio.

Deco Dalponte began his career in the city of Marcelino Ramos, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, on the border with his hometown – Concórdia. At the age of 9, without his father's presence, he was one of the members of Banda Los Dalmas (Adult Musicians).

On weekends - Traveled with

the Band Los Dalmas

How did this happen? When he was still living with his mother in Concórdia and aware that Banda Los Dalmas was going to play at a dance in the city, the little musician would stay at the front of the hall to help carry the instruments and equipment, set up the stage. I watched everything that had to do with the show and the band's performance. He said that "I felt the vibration of the stages and the life of a musician". The boy Deco (at the time he was known only as Deco) accompanied the band on weekends and stayed talking to the musicians. In the town of Volta Grande, during the presentation from Banda Los Dalmas, was invited on stage and sang two songs with the group. The songs were from the sertanejo, a traditional Brazilian song – compositions by the duo Milionário and José Rico and Chitãozinho and Xororó.

Deco became known to neighbors and people who lived in the community. They referred to him as: “That boy who sings well! ”.

It didn't take long to receive the invitation with more responsibility. Tito - the head of Banda Los Dalmas called him to be part of his band's group of musicians. His debut was in the city of the band – Marcelino Ramos. It was also at this time that he began his career as a professional musician and singer.

With Banda Los Dalmas in the city of Marcelino Ramos - 10 years old.

To study music and improve himself, he left his family home and went to live with Tito's family, in Marcelino Ramos. He finished his secondary education in that city, where he attended the eighth grade.

At that time he had the opportunity to study music and learn to play several instruments. Soon he took over as bassist in Los Dalmas, and at other times, as guitarist. Always sang along.

We remind you that your father, your mentor, could not attend your debut as a professional musician in the band. He left earlier and that gave him more determination to carry on – residing away from the family home.

At the age of 13 - Marcelino Ramos

Deco stayed in the band until the age of 14. By that time I had already learned to play guitar, bass, drums and introductory keyboards. I was also very confident to help with the technical part of the stage, such as sound editing.

He provided opportunities for his training and learning with life and relied on the vocation he had in himself. At the age of 14, she returned to Santa Catarina – to her family's residence – who at that time lived in the city of Piratuba SC, and where she worked as a teacher.

During this period, he worked as a hat maker and also as a waiter - in a snack bar in the city - at night he sang in a restaurant.

The adjustment after his return to the family home did not go as he had hoped. He was already very independent and there were conflicts with his younger brothers. His mother taught and could not reconcile what created an environment that was not very good. This hastened Deco's decision to look for alternatives and, as always, he had maternal support.

During this period, another stage of his musical training took place and he obtained new learnings. Listened, watched and learned different styles. Always, in practice, observing and then testing. He noted that he could earn his living from music in other ways. His voice changed at the age of 14.

A curiosity ...

One night, when he missed class, he proposed to the owner of a local restaurant/bar – more precisely, one night in August 1992. He told him he could play and sing for the customers, free of charge. His interlocutor was not convinced, because the movement was small. He suggested that he would play for a free audition that night. That same night it played, the movement wasn't really big, but it met people from the city of Blumenau who would change its destiny. In fact, he met two couples: Sérgio Nuhs and wife and Francisco Graciola and wife. Francisco Graciola realized Deco's musical potential. The singer and musician intuitively felt the opportunity and presented a collection of varied melodies to the visitors. He felt motivated and conveyed all the energy and desire to sing. On the same night, he received an invitation to sing in his establishments – in the city of Blumenau.

The invitation woke him up and made him focus on the opportunity for new learning and scenarios.

Deco remained in Piratuba until the end of the 1993 carnival, to sing and play until the end of the summer, then went to Blumenau, still in 1993. He arrived in the city on March 14 of that year.

“So I adapted, creating mechanisms to appear and gain prominence, in a place so different and so far from everyone I knew, there I was again alone again, but musicdidn't leave me alone, it always put me in good situations, created good circumstances and conditions for me to move forward, I was always faithful to God, and in Him I sought and found strength to overcoming my fears, which were not few, fear of getting sick, feeling sick, of dying, of eating things that would make you sick, of dark, storm, fear of being afraid...” Deco Dalponte

In Blumenau – new learning in the area of music, with other challenges and contexts. I was alone, away from family and friends, and I didn't know many people. The only thing he was sure of was that this was his place.

Blumenau SC

Deco commented in an interview that... “with effort, a lot of study, humility, professionalism and seriousness, I was looking for a space here in Blumenau. And today, I am very happy with the result. After a lot of training and studying, I started to incorporate into my repertoire for the evenings, songs sung in several languages, of different styles...”.

In the first three months of Blumenau, he lived with the Graciola family and played and sang in one of their establishments. After that time, already settled in Blumenau, Deco went to live in a studio apartment, also owned by the Graciola family.

In Blumenau SC - 1993 - 16 years old.

“In Blumenau it took me a while to reach the point of singing and playing infecting people as naturally happened in Piratuba. I developed more skills in accompanying me on the guitar, because before that I played more bass, always depending on someone to accompany me, I began to realize the importance of being independent, and the expansion that this would create through ease of expressing my feelings directly through my hands and my singing.” Deco

Francisco Graciola's establishment merged with Choperia Tunga. He needed to find another establishment to play and be able to stay in the city. Tunga sponsored his meals, where he had lunch for two months, so that Deco could settle down peacefully in the city. It did not present music with the appropriate profile to play at Tunga – a point that received many visitors and the local band played German music.

He found partners, with whom he played and sang together.During that time, he met Zé Amaro, a musician with whom he began to play and sing together, in the city of Blumenau and in other cities in the region. During that time, his financial situation improved a little and he also became better known to the public.

In 1994, a well-known musician - Acácio - invited Deco to sing with him at a renowned establishment in the city of Blumenau – practically every night, with a good fee and dinner. Acácio became his musical partner at that time.

“We started playing together, so Acácio and I, a very eclectic musician, with a lot of experience in bars, a good-natured person, didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, which, by the way, I never liked either, and I did. This has always helped me, also due to the fact that I am not distorted by alcohol and other substances that are very easy for anyone who is at night. ” Deco

Alongside the musician – Acácio, he had other good jobs and consequently a more peaceful and secure life and new plans to take courses in singing and music.

He found his first wife, mother of his eldest daughter – Luíza – who was born in 1995. At that time, he began his studies in lyrical singing. His career took a boost. He matured as a musician and also as a person facing the responsibility of the newly built family - he was 17 years old. He became more independent and felt the need to become a soloist, have his own sound structure and be self-sufficient.

In that moment of reflection, he received an invitation from the owner of the well-known Bar Kriado – it operated in a half-timbered typology on Rua Alwin Schrader - Blumenau.

It was a defining moment in Deco's career. He tried to be a soloist, as he had planned. For that, he stopped playing the double bass and started playing the guitar, the acoustic guitar and also expanded his repertoire. His salary increased a lot, which gave him the opportunity to invest in equipment and structure – giving rise to his own music "firm", without stopping playing at Bar Kriado.

The Neumarkt Shopping Center was inaugurated. He started to play in a brewery, in another period different from Bar Kriado, in the newly opened mall. Specifically: from 19:00h to 23:00h at the mall's brewery, and from midnight until 4:00h or 5:00h in the morning at Bar Kriado. Deco did not have a car at that time and often relied on rides, as he had to transport equipment. During this period, in addition to playing at night every day, he dedicated time to his studies.

“During this period I rehearsed a lot, researched a lot about equipment that would support me, met and played with many local musicians and from other regions and states. ” Deco

His professional life and studies left him very little time available in the day to dedicate to his family. At that time, he was 19 years old and his daughter Luiza was 2 years old. Separation happened in their marriage. It was a tough time.

Cidade Urussanga - Italian Ball - 19 years old

He left his house and went to live in the house of his compadres, his daughter's godparents. The pace of work was the same as when I was married, every moment dedicated to music.

Often, he would sing and play at noon at some other establishment. He continued his studies of lyrical singing, when he started presenting recitals. I received invitations to official and solemn events, which made me reconcile lyrical and popular singing.

During that time, he met singers and musicians who sang Italian songs. There was a show at Bar Kriado, where the repertoire was only Italian songs. Deco and some musicians accompanied the singer who came from São Paulo for the show. Opportunity taken to learn more about Italian music. He was delighted. Learned over 50 songs of classic Italian folk.

“This moment was spectacular, because I had to learn more than 50 Italian songs, romantic ones, the best and most known, I fell in love with the songs, with the support of the public , for the intensity of the melodies, of the harmonies, of the language, which was found in my singing study, always very much based on Italian, or Latin >.” Deco

Italian show - Cariacica - ES - 20 years

He began to include more Italian songs in his repertoire that conquered a captive audience. Also in his studies of lyrical chants, songs in the Italian language stood out.

In 1997 he received an invitation to sing in an Italian Show Band from the city of Rodeo SC. It was a good challenge and a source of great learning for the singer and musician.

Playing and singing at a wedding - Blumenau - 1997 - 21 years old

He continued with shows in establishments and commitments, but also traveled with the band from the city of Rodeo around the country, singing in the Italian language. He got to know new songs and increased his repertoire and experience. New partnerships have emerged.

During that time he got to know the keyboardist of the band better.

“.... I learned a lot from this relationship. It pushed me even further to study other languages, such as English and improve my Italian. ” Deco

He had the opportunity to get to know other states, larger centers and cities. It started closing contracts for other types of events, such as: weddings, graduations, private parties.

In 1999, he participated in an Italian Music Festival in the city of Sarandi, in Rio Grande do Sul. He was victorious and received a good cash prize, which allowed him to purchase a car – useful for transporting his equipment and instruments.

Deco composed his songs, but never took the time to perform them.

“I always liked to write and compose, but I always considered my songs not very commercial, and because I was always taking new songs and singing everything, I was leaving my compositions always in the background, despite never stopping composing and writing.” Deco

In the year 2000 - the turn of the millennium - he published a work - the recording of a CD with the interpretation of Italian songs, Brazilian popular music and songs in English.

“At this time I was in a much more special connection with the universe and the creator, I always liked spirituality, on the subtle, invisible side , holistic of being. Behold, during this period I was already in contact with Reiki, which opened many doors for me, many things were revealed. Lots of meditation, and more compositions always coming up. ” Deco

He met the singer Priscila Viera at Pizzaria Don Peponne (Deco was working) when she was informally invited, as a joke and encouraged by friends who accompanied her - to sing with singer Deco Dalponte and musician Mazin Silva who played guitar.
